Tick-borne encephalitis or TBE is a viral infectious disease affecting the central nervous system. It is caused by the TBEV or Tick-borne encephalitis virus (TBEV). It was originally isolated in 1937. There are three virus subtypes. Travelling abroad can be one of the best experiences we can ever have. Packing bags, checking on the best places to eat, tourist attractions and the best hotels available and the list goes on… However, there is one important item on our travel to-do list that most of us fail to check on… And that’s travelling vaccination!
